Chapel Inaguration in Kherkabar, Salbari

25 July 2018, Salbari: A newly built village chapel was blessed on 22nd July by our Provincial Friar Praveen D' Souza OFM in the presence of the friars working in the Foundation. We are grateful to the General Secretariat of the Franciscan Missions, Waterford, USA who willingly sponsored this chapel which has been named after the wonder worker St. Anthony of Padua. We place on record our gratitude and thanks to Mr. Anthony Brezezinski whose generous contribution through Waterford made this dream come true. This is the second chapel (out of three chapels sponsored by Waterford) blessed. The first one was blessed when our Minister General visited the Foundation on 1st May 2018 in Manikjora village. It was a jubilation for the parishioners of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, in particular, for the faithful of Kherkabari village who had been praying for years to have a place for worship and to celebrate the Sacraments. Friar Vijay Minj OFM who is the Parish Priest has been actively shepherding the flock and spreading the Word of God with the help of other friars in the community. The FSM sisters who collaborate with the friars in their pastoral activities have been instrumental to catechize the people and the children in faith.There were around 500 people, besides the religious of other congregations, gathered to witness this blessing and inauguration of the newly built chapel. The people were so vibrant in participating and praying to God during the Eucharistic celebration.
