Inter Religious Dialogue in Honour of 800 th Anniversary of Encounter between the Sultan and St. Francis of Assisi

Bengaluru, 12 January 2020: St. Francis of Assisi, in the time of Crusades, braved the church establishments of his time and took on a peace expedition to meet the Sultan al-Malikal-Kamil to propose the end of war and to facilitate peace between the two warring factions. A great adventure of peace and dialogue!
Remembering this great event in the history, an Inter-religious dialogue was arranged in St.Anthony’s Friary on the occasion of visit of the MZF guests who were on a cultural study tour to India. Led by Br. Francis Kaviyil OFM who is associated with the MZF, 24 guests from MZF, Germany attended the event.
The speakers during the Inter religious dialogue include, Mr. Danyal Kazi from Islam, Mr.Venkataram from Hinduism, Mr. Dhivyesh Bhandari from Brahma Kumara, Mr. KuchokGyatso from Buddhism and Mr. Harmeen Singh from Sikhism rendered their powerful voice for peace and harmony. Every speaker reiterated the need for peace which is the common need of every religion.
There was an interactive session lasting for half an hour with the speakers in groups. Br.Praveen Henry D’ Souza, Minister Provincial coordinated the entire Programme.
