St. Clare of Assisi Mission Salbari, Assam has tried to reach out to the poor needy during the lock down with the relief materials package. We have identified the poor people and most deserving cases in the villages. Poor people who do not have the ration card have not received any food item, we have given them 15kgs of rice and 1kgs of dal, 1kgs of salt and 1lit. mustard oil. And those families how have received rice form ration shop we have not given them rice but the other items are given. We did the distributions on 23rd ,24th and 25th April and it continues to those identified extremely poor. In this way we have distributed relief materials to almost 480 families in 17 villages up till now. We have reached out to some of the most deserving families. We have not yet finished the distribution. We will take some more time to identify them and help. As the lock down is likely to extend we are just waiting for most deserving ones. Every day our volunteers are seeking information from villages to reach out to extremely poor who have no source of income. The Friars in the community here thank the donors for reaching out the needy in this part of world. We are praying for the suffering people around the world. May God bless all the generous hearts who have come forward to help those most needy at this difficult time due to COVID-19.
