A MEMORABLE REGENCY EXPERIENCE

I did my regency program in the community of Shalom Friary, Hyderabad. It began on 1st July 2021.I did my regency under the guidance of Fr. Tom MM. As the guardian of the house, he offered me ample opportunities to explore my potentialities in various fields. Regency is a time when one discovers the uniqueness of his gifts from God. After doing one year of my regency, I realized that regency is an important aspect in the life of a formme. My regency experience strengthened me in my Franciscan formation journey.

I was involved in education ministry at St. Francis of Assisi Boy’s School. It helped me to gain knowledge as well as to excel in my teaching. It was through school ministry that I realized that I have talents and abilities to confront a group of people. I was involved in monitoring teachers, conducting exams and selling uniforms to the students. The school ministry was something that I will never forget. Regency has indeed been an unforgettable journey which will remain in my memory all my life. My life was filled with lots of excitement and enthusiasm. It was certainly a period wherein I felt I was a committed friar minor. The joy of my school ministry has given me surely countless confidence and it the best experience of my life.

I am grateful to the friars who motivated me and pushed me forward to discover my abilities. This has constructed in a big way to what I am today. These friars helped me when I was upset. They always encouraged me to explore new possibilities. My most memorable moments were those spent in the community, and I spent most of my time with the friars Fr. Tom MM, Fr. Bhasker, Fr. Prasanna, Fr. Soosairaj and Fr. Austin Francis. I also thank Fr. John Sekhar, the regent master for his fraternal support and encouragement.
